Thomas Edison was born in Ohio in 1847 before moving to Michigan with his family at the age of seven. Despite attending school for only two months, he continued to learn with his mum at home and developed a love for experimenting with electrical and mechanical things.

As a teenager, Edison worked as a newsboy on a train and, while doing experiments, accidentally set fire to the floor of a baggage car. This experience did not deter him, however, as he spent a lot of time experimenting and eventually got his first patent in 1868.

Throughout his life, Edison made so many inventions aimed at improving the quality of human life, and this became his great success. He was responsible for the invention of the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and the practical electric light bulb, among many others.

Despite facing setbacks and failures throughout his career, Edison persevered and continued to innovate until his death in 1931. Today, his legacy as one of the world's greatest inventors lives on, and his impact on modern technology and society is immeasurable.
