Calculate:
Tính:
a) \(\frac{8}{3}-\frac{5}{3}\);
b) \(\frac{16}{5}-\frac{9}{5}\)
c) \(\frac{21}{8}-\frac{3}{8}\)
Both fractions have a denominator, keeping the denominator unchanged and subtracting the numerator of the second fraction from the numerator of the first fraction
Muốn trừ hai phân số có cùng mẫu, ta giữ nguyên mẫu, lấy tử trừ cho nhau;
a) Keeping the denominator 3 unchanged and subtracting the numerator of the second fraction from the numerator of the first fraction
Giữ nguyên mẫu số là 3, lấy tử trừ cho nhau:
\(\frac{8}{3}-\frac{5}{3}= \frac{8-5}{3}=\frac{3}{3}=1\);
b)Keeping the denominator 5 unchanged and subtracting the numerator of the second fraction from the numerator of the first fraction
Giữ nguyên mẫu số là 5, lấy tử trừ cho nhau:
\(\frac{16}{5}-\frac{9}{5}= \frac{16-9}{5}=\frac{7}{5}\)
c) Keeping the denominator 8 unchanged and subtracting the numerator of the second fraction from the numerator of the first fraction
Giữ nguyên mẫu số là 8, lấy tử trừ cho nhau:
\(\frac{21}{8}-\frac{3}{8}= \frac{21-3}{8}= \frac{18}{8}\)
