Project - Unit 9: Cities of the Future

1. Work in groups of four to six. Discuss and decide on your ideal city of the future. You can expand the ideas your brainstormed in the COMMUNICATION section. • The City’s name (Tên thành phố)
• Geographical features: location, area, population, weather conditions (Đặc điểm địa lý: vị trí, diện tích, dân số, điều kiện thời tiết)
• Infrastructures: means of transport, environmental conditions, energy sources, treatment of waste (Cơ sở hạ tầng: phương tiện di chuyển, điều kiện môi trường, nguồn năng lượng, phương pháp xử lý nước thải)
• People’s life and work: education, health care, working hours (Cuộc sống và công việc của con người: Giáo dục, chăm sóc sức khỏe, giờ làm việc)

Take notes of your group’s ideas and think about how to organize them. Then design a poster to promote your ideal city. Add some pictures to illustrate it. 2. Introduce your poster to the class. Present the features of your city and explain what makes it the most liveable city in the world. (Hãy giới thiệu tờ bích chương quảng cáo của bạn trước lớp. Hi everyone, welcome to our Dream city. It's located in the western Vietnam and has an area of 50 square kilometer. There are 3 million people here. The main transport is green car and motor bike. Besides, modern public transport system is also developed to avoid traffic jams. We utilize modern waste treatment so that the air is not polluted. We also grow a lot of trees, which results in fresh atmosphere around the city. Educational system is supported by high technology, robot teacher, and distance learning is popular among students. Citizens here can enjoy the best health care services in the world and they need to work only 7 hours a day.
